Please call Amanda Fritz’s office at 503-823-3008 this morning and voice support for the Village Of Hope. The parks department (led by Amanda) is planning to forcibly remove and arrest the villagers this morning. The city cannot be allowed to keep pushing houseless people around, sweeping camps, destroying their personal belongs and any sense of continuity or security, ESPECIALLY when they consistently fail to provide reasonable alternatives. Call the city and demand that the sweeps stop, contact Village of Hope to see what support you can provide, come stand up for your community! [read-more] via Portland Assembly
A little respect goes a long way. At Portland Assembly we believe in cooperative Mutual Aid as the road to dignity for all people.

Portland Assembly’s SE community shelter is warm and full of hot food cooked by local volunteers! If you know anyone needing shelter, they can stay here overnight at Sts Peter and Paul Episcopal Church, SE 82nd and Ash. We are still accepting donations! Our biggest donation needs are sleeping mats, blankets, hand warmers, gloves, and menstruation supplies/general toiletries and med/first aid stuff (antacid, neosporin, ibuprofen, cold meds, etc.). It would also be helpful to get more fruit, like oranges, apples, and bananas. Big thanks to volunteers and supply donors! [read-more] via Portland Assembly
